FAQs – Girls’ Only Cricket

Q : My daughter has never played cricket before. Will she still be ok to join in ?

A : Absolutely. We welcome beginners and everyone will be able to take part batting bowling and fielding right from the first session with no previous experience.

Q : What do we need to bring and what should we wear ?

A : A hat, suncream and water if its warm is all the equipment you will need. Comfortable outdoor clothes or PE kit. It can get a bit muddy in the early season so no special clothes !

Q : Where are the dates of the sessions :

A : 17th April, 24th April, 1st May, 8th May, 15th May. We will look to add more details soon

Q : What happens if it rains ?

A : If the weather is really poor we will cancel and rearrange. We do not play in thunder but we might play if the rain is very light. Parents will be added to a dedicated Whatsapp group and confirmation that it is going ahead will be sent out no later than 3om that same day.

Q : What does it cost ?

A : This introductory sessions are all free. Normal membership of Ulverston Cricket Club for juniors is £20 which include all matches and practices. However for new girls coming along to these introdutory sessions, membership for 2026 will be free !

Q : Can parents / families come alo and watch these sessions ?

A : Yes absolutely ! We would encourage you to stay and watch but if you cannot please let us know.
